Re: Need advise for a 2008 (600 hours) 2305 with cab, rear blower & a 200CX loader

I paid US $12,300 for my 2305 with 124 hours on it and it had the CX200 FEL and 62in MMM.

So, for x6 the hours and possibly due for some major maintenance - I wouldn't go above $8000-9000 for it.

On tractor house / ebay you can find tractors with under 150 hours, with FEL's / snow blowers / finish mowers for 11000-12,000.

What kind of maintenance are we looking for apart from changing oils, filters etc..? :thanku:

Here is right from the manual:

After First 10 Hours
· Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 10 Hours or Daily
· Test safety systems.
· Check engine oil level.
· Check transmission oil level.
· Check air filter rubber dust unloading valve.
· Check radiator coolant level.

After First 50 Hours
· Change engine oil and filter.
· Change transmission oil and filter.
· Clean transmission suction screen.

Every 50 Hours
· Check front axle oil level.
· Lubricate machine.

Every 200 Hours
· Change engine oil and filter.
· Inspect alternator belt.
· Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 400 Hours
· Change transmission oil and filter.
· Clean transmission suction screen.
· Replace fuel filter.

Every 600 Hours
· Check engine low idle speed.
· Check air filter intake hoses and clamps.
· Change front axle oil.
· Check brake adjustment.

Yearly
· Change engine oil and filter if less than 200 hours of operation.
· Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filter.
· Check all hoses and clamps.
· Check battery electrolyte level.

Every 1200 Hours
· Check engine valve clearance. See your John Deere dealer.

Every Two Years or 2000 Hours
· Flush and replace factory coolant. Flush cooling system and replace coolant with John Deere COOL-GARD engine coolant.
· Service fuel injection nozzles.

I don't know the conditions / uses of it... but that seems a lot of hours for a SCUT that's only 4 years old. Does it seem beat at all? Any welds or such? How do the hoses look?

In my area even with the hours that would bring 13-15,000. That cab alone is worth big $$$$.

2305, 200CX FEL & 54C deck in my area your looking at about 8K for trade in value and the dealer will sell it for about 10-11K. the Cab would be about 2k and the blower around 1800. So your looking at about $14,300 USD. slkpk

Hmm, so for here (Canada) it's probably around $15-16.000.

What do you think about the hours on it (612) is it a consensus that is a bit high?

Hours do sound high.. looks like its in good shape. Did the seller have a mower deck for it? Like Slkpk said would be in the 13 to 14k range here with cab and blower.

I would say thats high hours for homeowner use but tractor has a LOT of hours left in it.

I dont know about attachment cost but just as a FYI, I bought a new 2305 with 62MMM and 200CX loader last summer for $12,900 when the 1 series was coming out.

How hard is it to import something like that for you?

Good question,,,
I had not considered that.

It's a John Deere dealer that have the tractor and I did not call yet to get more info, I want you guys your opinion/advise before talking to the salesman.

What I like to do ultimately it's to keep my X300 for mowing and get a SCUT with an loader and possibly a backhoe.

I'm in the begining of searching on that, so any other advise is good too.

It's sure that I have look the 1026r coming from John Deere equipped with the loader and backhoe, but "built your own" web service didn't seem to work this morning.

I wouldn't let 612 hours bother me in the least bit with these tractors. By the end of this year I will have about that many as it's got 534 now and not had any issues with mine and it's a 2007. slkpk

It's roughly around 150 hours/years that not so bad IMO, I'll call this week to have more info and let you guys know the story behind that tractor. :fing32:

When you find a tractor you are interested in, copy the serial number, have your local dealer run a maintenance history! You might be surprised what you will find.
