I took my 61 apart for a cleaning on my 1942 L and found a broken float shaft tab. Before I try and ruin it some more I figured I would see what my options are as I am new at working on stuff this old :). A good used one would be great if someone has one to sell and if so where would one look to find said used carb???

Are you just looking for the float. I think I have an extra "floating around". If so you are welcome to it for the postage.

thanks but my float is ok its the ears that the float pin go into - one side is broken off. So a whole carb or a carb top section would be what I am after.

Carbs show up on e-bay all the time. Trouble is most are way over priced and still an unknown quantity when you bid on them. If the ears are the riveted on type you may be able to make a set and reattach it.

I am Canadian so ..... over priced, the currency exchange, ridiculous shipping and handing charges, with customs fees - all things I would prefer to avoid but may have to fork out for. I will have to take a crack at either fixing the one broken side or recreate and try to rivet or attach to the original base. I would still prefer a non home brew fix if I can find it.
