I just bought a cat 1 3-point scoop / dump bucket that doesn't have a maker's name on it and, even stranger, it came with a manual that doesn't show the mfr either! And, naturally, it's missing parts. So I'm hoping someone on here will recognize it. Pix below...

I'm not a dump bucket expert, but this one has some interesting features I hadn't seen before.

Basically it's a 3-point manually-released dump bucket. Unusual, but not unheard of, right? However... it doesn't use the top link of the 3-point. It uses the lower lift arms, but about where you'd expect the top link to attach there's a linkage assembly that goes down to the tractor's tow bar. This odd geometry makes the bucket rotate (scoop) automatically when the lift arms raise. I think that's really ingenious. (Naturally, these linkage parts are what I'm missing. Oh, and my little tractor doesn't have a fixed tow bar, but I've got some ideas on how to get around that.)

Something else I find interesting... the back side of the bucket has a scraper built in. With side wings. And an adjustable / replaceable blade. Almost a box blade. Matter of fact, the owners manual calls this device a 'box bucket.' Interesting that it has a replaceable blade on the scraper but not on the cutting edge of the bucket. Seems like whoever designed it definitely had moving and spreading material in mind.

Oh, and another odd feature. When you pull the dump handle it doesn't immediately dump. The handle unlocks the bucket, but it doesn't actually dump until you lower it to the ground and pick it up again.

I paid $200. Would you have?

I have never seen this model but so far.. im impressed!!

I like the grading blade, I like the 'auto-curl' functionality, and i like that it doesnt dump when you pull the release because im thinking that, by extension, that also means you never have to deal with the load in the bucket making the trip mechanism harder to move. So from my armchair position im suspecting this might be one of the best 3pt dump buckets ever devised! And worth $200? Yeah, sure!

Get us some pictures of it mounted up when you can. And thanks for posting this. (y)

I thought I posted a couple more pix yesterday, but don't see them now, so....

I plan on posting a video if I can get it rotating like it's supposed to, but it will be a while. I'm hoping to convert it to Cat 0 for use behind my Power King, but before I get too carried away I should do some weight testing too determine practicality.

I.e. how much will the PK lift (cat 0 std is 450# a 12" behind pins, but how tired is my old girl?), minus the weight of the bucket (it's pretty light, but I haven't weighed it yet), to get a cargo capacity. And at what point does the front end lift (in pulling posts I know the 3-pt will lift the front end) and if I need front weight how do I want to do that... so many questions, and I'm rambling.

I have some where in the neighborhood of 300# in my weight box. That's equal to about 3 cu ft of dirt. The front blade weights about 75 lbs. It could stand a few more. If I put a bucket on both ends it would work out about right.

I think the pk will probably lift it with a useful amount of dirt//stuff in it, BUT you will definitely need front counterweight. Might as well start planning that out right now so the dump bucket isnt a huge disappointment the first time you go to use it.

Did it come with the parts F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N that are not pictured? I assume those are the missing parts mentioned.
Yes, missing F - L. I didn't realize until after I purchased it. I assumed it just used the top link. That's what happens when you purchase in a downpour. ;) But at $200 I'd a bought it anyway.

That's a big part part of why I started this thread. I've got part numbers but no info on who I would contact for prices or to order. I was hoping someone on here would recognize it.

Missing Q, E and R, as well, but they're minor.

Since you brought it up...

J is labeled 'clevis / pivot'. It seems this link assembly is designed for full articulation. But it seems to me when the bucket raises and curls the side-to-side motion is going to be minimal. I can't figure why it's such a complex design. I'm thinking a top link type arm with ball ends riding on pins should work. Am I missing something?

Since it doesn't use the top link the manual says it should be removed or tied out of the way. I think it would be slick if I could instead use the top link in place of the missing parts.

I need to get the Cat 1 pins out and replaced with inward-facing Cat 0 pins so I can mount it up and play with it. I did measure the pin mounting plates before I bought it. 24". I think the Cat 0 spec is 20" max spread on the lift arms, but my Power King arms will go out to 24", so it should work.

Yes. Planning on filling the front tires and / or adding wheel weights. Once I can mount it up I'll see what it needs.

Depends on the geometry and length of the top link. It being tied to the draw bar would make it move like a boom pole and twist up quicker and more than the lift arms move. If the lift arms and top link were equal and moved in the same radius, then the scoop would raise without tilting back. You can use a top link, but I would fix it to the draw bar location as intended to make it function as intended. The adjustment of the top link would let you set the scoop at the correct angle when sitting on the gorund, and adjust the cutting blade angle of attack.
