I decided my old Murray didn't need to sit around wasting away. It's been sitting for a while with a deck that's beyond repair (actually been repaired one too many times already). I need something to pull my boat around the yard and figured I'd put the Murray to use and weld up a plate with a 2" ball for it. Below is what resulted.

Drilled four 9/16 holes for the mounting bolts. On the mower's backplate, the lower two bolts will also go through the mower frame once back on the mower. Made a backing plate for the upper bolts from 1/2 plate to help spread the load on them. The four bolts are spaced evenly so that the hitch plate can be flipped over if needed giving either 1 1/2 inch drop or rise.
