Doing fun stuff is confusing enough.
Sorting and thinning the 6,500 lines of text I get when running the confusing interface of the GPS program.
This is the bottom of the text messages.

Looks like I received 6,501 lines this time.
Hmmmm
Here is the top of the information.
Look at line 48 between colum 2 & 3, it shows 1211.168 which is equal to 3,973.648 feet above sea level.
You can see the altitude which is "mean sea level" measured in meters plus three decimals. Which would be to the thousandth of a meter which would be 0.039 of an inch. so 0020 would be 3/4" or 0.0254 = one inch. (tape measure marks for hammer nailers)
That's really accurate!!

Then the chip for sending the information that the receiver gets that needs to be sent to the program for filtering is this guy.

It has a 2.4GHz processor
Plus it's a Dual Mode WiFi + Bluetooth transceiver
It's not very large to include all of that, only
this big.

Here are the statistics from the first test.

Pretty good results. All of this for about $10 bucks????
