We all hope this will all come together completing the build and may we all gain some knowledge and appreciation for the friendships that have developed in the process.

My wife and I both have Cummins trucks, I love the sound and the shake of them.
Of course an unexpected Injection pump failure last week puts a $2000 hole in your pocket, 😭

One year ago today, I went into a coma for five days. My sister by chance came that day and found me face down on the floor and called 911. They had me transported to the local hospital and then down the mountain to their urgent care facility in Bakersfield. The head nurse said my condition hadn't changed for four days but on the fifth day she walked in and said I was sitting up and talking to the nurse. I spent a total of twelve days in the hospital and on the 10th was wished happy birthday by the staff with the Dr. playing guitar as they sang Happy Birthday. We fought with a specialist who was from an Asian country for me to be released prior to the game on Sunday who wanted me to have a test done. They explained to her that Sunday was like a holiday in our country similar to Christmas. Especially when it is your team playing. She relented and I was home in time to watch the Super Bowl.

What a long journey it was regaining my health and weight that I had lost during my ordeal. My Dr. said it was truly a miracle for me to recover at all from the coma & the numbers indicated that I was already gone. He was surprised I was even able to make the office visit. A friend drove me there and I was aided by a walker but there for the follow up and then to the lab for blood work.
The next day they called 911 to have me taken to the hospital for treatment. My sister and I thought it was a mistake and after the paramedic confirmed I was coherent left. Soon after the phone was ringing off the hook and the nurse told me the Dr. had ordered for me to be taken once again to the hospital for treatment. My potassium level was so low he said my heart could stop beating at any moment. About eight hours later after many tests and treatment I was released again.
It now seems as if it was years ago when this all happened. Thinking back I remember feeling the worst I had felt in my entire life for the two months prior to this event. I kept thinking I would get over it until a day or two before when I felt I might not wake up the next day. My life long and dearest friend passed away two days before my incident. I could almost feel him there with me trying to help. Who knows, he may have been. Thank you Danny, my friend, my brother.

Thank you MTF for a place for us to hang out. To share our projects and our lives with the friends we have made here.

Luckily it happened a 1/4 mile from the house and not on her way to work or back. She came home from work Friday, I went to take the truck to town Sat and it just quit. Dang electronic things. Her's is a 2000 5.9, 24V, VP-44 electronic IP and mine is old school 12V, VE-43 mechanical.
Her has more power even though I did all the simple upgrades plus her's is a 5 speed mine is auto.

That is quite a story, Don. One thing I never understood is what caused the coma? Glad you have recovered so well.

I was told I am diabetic by the Dr.'s and never knew it. Danny suspected it and ordered a blood test kit from Amazon which I never bothered to use. All the while I was on a soft drink binge. The first time in over 10 years but suddenly was drinking them by the gallon.
I figured I would get over the craving. So it wound up almost doing me in.
I should have listened to my friends advice and used the tester.

Yeah, I went down hard.
Then when at home, I realized that it had damaged my vision. At the same time my backlit keyboard went out on me. I could not see the keyboard well enough to write with it. I used the on screen keyboard but it was so slow and frustrating to use, I only used it a couple of times to answer your email and post one message here. For what ever reason, it took them close to two weeks when I ordered a new one to get it to me, thus prolonging the time.

I'm trying to cut out the soft drinks again Don. I gave them up years ago then got back on them in 2020. I've cut back but need to cut them out. My a1c number was 5.7 on my recent blood work. Guess I'm doing alright so far with that but still want to get off them.

Try the brand name Simply, their Lemon aid is incredible. Then they came out with a lite version which is great for me.
Getting rid of sugar in anyone's diet is beneficial to overall health.
Bad things come from sugar, sorry not meaning to preach.

You are correct Don. I know this from my nutritionist after my open heart in 2009. Got away from it for many years. Not happy with myself slipping back into it.

Keto diet. It gets rid of most foods that turn to sugar in your body.

I thought it was diabetes, but couldn't remember or didn't know. I'll drink one Pepsi about every 2 months. It's coffee and OJ in the morning and water the rest of the day. I need to stop eating white food. I don't know what my sugar level is, but I'm over weight so I suspect it ain't good.

I drink the Pepsi with real sugar, not the stuff with high fructose corn syrup. It's better for you but still not good. Too much sugar in soft drinks.

After found a cardiologist that would do some real testing he did what's called a VAP test. It checks everything in your blood. Found out my C-Reactive Protein was way too high. The doc took me off all sugar, dairy and gluten for 6 weeks till we got that number down where it needs to be. He then said I could introduce a little of each thing one at a time and my body will react to what's causing the inflammation. The dairy was causing me the most problem. I cut out all three for quite awhile. I would cheat and have a dairy queen occasionally. or desert if we were having dinner at some function. It worked pretty well for me. Kept the weight off. I know the soft drinks are bad. Having this conversation is making me feel even more guilty. Gonna work hard on it. not easy doing away with sugar and caffeine together. Guess I can get the caffeine in black coffee.

To my surprise, Pepsi Zero Sugar is not too bad. Ice cold glass mug likely helps.
The same for Coca Cola Zero Sugar.
Sure not as sweet but it is an alternative I can live with.
Since buying 12 packs of those and others such as A&W, Canada Dry and 7-UP they just sit on the shelf or take up space in the frig and that's OK with me too.
Oh, I've been meaning to mention. Since my New Year resolution cleaning out the refrigerator, Little Bit has found the now roomy shelf space above the vegetable bin irresistible and loves exploring it every time I open the door! Ha!!
I have shut the door while he is in there, thinking I'll let him stay in for 30 seconds, but by the count of 20 I open the door and he's just there looking out at me.
