So Stumpy sold on Ebay, a little less than what I wanted for it, but I got to keep my snowblower and mower deck, and the guy is paying me an extra $45 to meet him in CT which works out because I get to see Hugh tonight... Ironically, he only wants the motor, wiring, and starter out of it, and he is going to resell the rest of the tractor...

I went out to load it in my truck last night, and had been rolling it around my yard with no issue till last night... It would not roll! I pushed and heaved and nothing! So i tried to spin the input pulley on the trans and it would move a little then felt like it hit something that stopped it from spinning... I think it has water in the trans, and as it was above freezing till this week, I could roll it fine- now the water froze and it won't roll... GRR had to use a chain and a come-along to get it into the truck!

Interesting theory you have GT, and it does sound like frozen water could be a possibility. Time to whip out a hair dryer and try to thaw it.
it's sitting in the bed of my truck, at work, waiting to be delivered- no hair dryer here. I know thats what is wrong. Just bugs me- I was hoping it would warm up into the 30's so it would thaw and I could drain it at work, but no such luck today. I hope the guy has something that will make for an easy transfer of the tractor.

hit it with a propane torch :fing32: I had that issue in my Tahoe couple years ago, couldn't figure out why the front diffy make an aweful racket when in 4x4 and under 25*. Figured it out real quick when I changed the fluid that spring, I'm surprised the bearings weren't all rusted together, looked like light chocolate milk :thSick:

I delivered it last night- the guy that bought it didn't care, he was pulling the motor, wiring, starter and selling the rest of the tractor again. Look for it on Ebay or CL in NY soon

Good deal for the guy. I bid on it too but just as a parts machine for my ss15. Those engines are great imo. Too bad we can't keep em all but too many can become way too many. I have I think 8 now and whittling them down to three would be excruciatingly painful for me. They all have they're good points!
