Anyone interested? I am thinking you guys can give info on what you would like to see built and I will build it.

something like

Deck: Snapper
Engine: Robin OHV engine
Blade: Gator
SP system: 6 Speed Snapper
etc...

or

deck: Lawn-Boy 3 speed
engine: Suzuki
blade:gator
SP: 3 speed
etc..
you get the idea

any interest? it will be like a supermower build or something.

I was going to make a poll, But I figured with all the decks, and blades and engines, etc.. out there i would miss something.

basically i just want to try and make the ultimate mower.

How about a self-propelled walk-behind mower with 4 WHEEL DRIVE? I have seen FWD and RWD Craftsman mowers that use the same deck. And from what I understand, the FWD mechanism is usually on top of the deck and the RWD mechanism is below. I would love to see this--is it doable?

maybe.... might be hard though.
Hi...I like this idea.

I always wanted to put a Suzuki on a LB deck but when I tried to put a Suzuki two cycle on a spare 10515 deck I could not figure out how to get the self propel situation lined correctly.

If you can do that and show me how I'd really appreciate that.

Thanks.:trink39:

hmmm, i dont have one of those decks, but I am sure it could be done.
Here is a mystery picture of what appears to be a 10515 deck....I have no idea whos mower this is but I'd like to have this set-up with the engine facing forward though....can this be achieved?

hmmm, you would have to drill holes but it should.
I know it's not as dramatic as an R3350 radial on a Wizard deck, but I'd love to see either an F or a Duraforce with a D series carb adapted to it, maybe an early D carb with high and low adjustments for mixture. I'd love to see one of those later motors tuned for power and not for ease of manufacture or emissions considerations.

hmmmm. might be do-able
It would probably be pretty hard to adapt the d series carb on the df because the old d400s that used the high and low speed adjustment didnt have air vanes... The guy who built a duraforce go cart, used a metal carb. Currently i am working on building a DF with a Metal carb with choke, high and low speed adjustment as well.
Tillotson carbs.:fing32:
Properly carbureted Duraforce on an M Deck would be interesting.

It would, as would a Suzuki

I tried that, unless you do some major modifications (that would be way over my head) it won't work. But I would like to see someone else attempt it with a DF or any other engine on an M deck to nice of a design to be wasted on an engine that was problematic to begin with and now a lack of parts for it
Food for thought....I'll post some pics tomorrow of my Snapper with a Suzuki two cycle I was messing with tonight.
Just realized that if you were to use the gas tank that mounts to the engine it won't clear the labyrinth of self propel mechanisms....the big silver piece is about an inch too high for the tank to slide into place perfectly.

But anyway, as promised a few quick snapshots of the situation. Keep in mind my stuff gets used so its not all shiny and new looking but mechanically sound..:trink40:

you can just box that up and send it to me. kthxbai.
