Morning to you,
I have this older MTD walk-behind. Model 114-410A205 Ser#1B044C40704

It's around a 1994? [or so] with a 3 1/2 hp Briggs. It runs out of fuel at about 3/4 of a tank and is getting to be a real pain. When it stops, I pump the primer bulb 2-3 times and it starts back up and runs for only about 10 seconds then that's it. I have to top off the tank and it's OK 'til 3/4 full again. Before I pull the carb off, are these prone to any cracks or breaks in the pick-up tube to the tank?

Many thanks,
Mike

New diaphram between the carb base and fuel tank outta help take care of that. Quite common for these models to exhibit problems like that after several years of fuel making the gasket brittle. Sometimes they crack or just dry out.
