If anybody is looking for a tractor to complete their headlight lens cover... Not mine, but I wish it were.

Holy cow that's a nice looking rig. Looks like it's a restore, but still...
It looks like reasonable restoration but I see some mistakes. Nothing too serious.

No rear hitch (liftable, or otherwise), F/R hand grip facing backwards, and lack of a headlight lens cover, for starters. Combined, they should knock at least $1,250 off of the asking price!:D
The light switch is wrong.
The mufflers are not supposed to be angled
The muffler guard clamps are installed wrong
Wrong shade of white.
Electric fuel pump - a big minus as far as I am concerned. The mechanical pump will last for decades. That would be the first thing to go if I bought it.
Sheet metal screws holding the shift plate down.

The attitude that I see is "Don't fix it right, just fix it."

Who knows what other short cuts would be found.

He restored the tractor to what he though was right and probably what he had to work with. It's a sharp looking tractor done up. Paint looks nice, at least it has a fresh new layer to protect it from the elements.

The Ariens tractor I restored, I switched the engine and frame color scheme around just for kicks. I like to restore a tractor to as close to original as possible, but I don't go nuts on hardware (no pun intended) and exact paint color, other little things.

I'm with Jake. A little one-of-a-kind look is good so long as it still retains the "great Gravely style" I like that tractor. Makes me think about selling off a lot of my stuff to go after it. I'm in NH every week. But I have my G.A.S. supressed for now and I think if I were to make such a move it would be for a newer series tractor than the 800. Have to say though I think the 800's might look the best of all of them.

Im with jake too that is a great looking tractor! I would not mind if there is some little stuff wrong with it.

Now I think we are getting picky. That is a nice refurbished tractor and as nice as I have seen. He didn't say it was a 100% restoration. And for the money, there is another generation of operation left in this machine.

Agreed. I think a restore for most of the guys on here has to be your own ideas applied to the piece. Unless you are like Sheldon who has owned “his Baby” since it was new, there is a certain satisfaction above the good “seat time” in having brought back to life one of these machines to your own vision. That’s why I will predict it will be a bit of time before anybody snaps that up at $2K+. Even Sheldon is upgrading his perfectly fine tractor into his vision of what it can be. Anybody with $2K ready to go on such a tractor would likely have some other ideas than what has been done to that. Btw – Anybody make a move yet on the mint 24G in Bucks county?

What's the lever to the left of the wheel on the dash? Choke?

I like non-perfect restorations for one reason - theft protection. No one would dare steal my B-1 with that butt-ugly paint job! You can spot it a mile away.

You're right. I see it now.
It really is a nice looking tractor. I would imagine that if I were looking to buy it, and the tractor and attachments ran as well as they looked, I would probably be willing to pay around $1,500 for everything.

The toggle switch has me wondering, on/off for the electric fuel pump??

Yes, choke, and the light switch is just to the right of the choke.
