Modification Dream

I have a 49 snowblower on my 318. I also have a 445 with a quick hitch. I have the urge to modify the 49 to fit the 445 and the quick hitch. My question is does anyone know what is the rpm speed of the front pto of the 445 and what is the rpm speed of the shaft of the 49 with the 318 would be? Are they the same speed? If they would be the same or at least very close, I am thinking of replacing the pully with a PTO .

318 front is 3600rpm 445 front is 2000 rpm per tractor data .com
Thank you for that information.
You could try to make a bolt on adaptor for the 49, so the modification won't be permanent :thThumbsU

You Need to check the archives Here and at Weekend Freedom Machines It Has Been Done Before converting The Belt driven Blowers from a 318 onto a X400 series so the same could Probably be done to a 425 thru 455:thThumbsU

Thanks for that information. I haven't seen that info before. With the coments I received, I think it will work. Knowing the speeds, I can always use a formula and change the sprocket on the auger.

Thanks a lot!!
I modified the model 50 thrower from a 400 to my 445. Used the mount because I dont have a quick hitch. Did the front blade the same way. Have about 300 into converting both with new paint and longer hoses. Very happy with the results. It was nice using the 400 thrower because the driveshaft hooks right up to the 445 pto and is the correct rpm.

The Quick Attach 46 blower for the 318 is driven at 2000 RPM. An add on pulley is installed in front of the main drive pulley on the engine. 34 inch 5L belt down to the PTO stub shaft.

I just installed a 46 blower from a 430 on a 318 without any problems. Have two 318s with quick hitch blades and blowers Fine snow moving machines.
