:howdy:Howdy troy-bilt tillers, I bought a Pony new in 1983-84 from troy-bilt ( I thought it was Troy-Bilt). I paid approx 1200. it was delivered. I've used it every year sprng and fall. It still starts on second pull every year. original red color and 80% decals on it. Getting on in years and going to sell it, but don't know what Model#, serial# or HP it is. I thought it was a 7HP. has bumper guard and on front of engine "Briggs & Stratton Magnetron". I've searched all over net and could'nt see one that looks like it. I moved and miss placed all info that came with it. I know that Gardenway made them until 2000. Does anyone know if they would have record of my purchase?. Thanks for any info on this matter. I'm so proud to be a member of MTF. I'm going to try and post a picture once I trial and error a few times...:thanku:

I'm simply curious, why sell it? You're not going to be able to replace it with anything of the same quality and caliber for low money in today's offerings. Just my opinion, but if you're still gardening, hang onto it.

With a Briggs engine, use your model/type/code stamped into the top or side of the blower housing to id the year and HP. It is pretty easy to start with the model code and use google search.

If it is a PONY it should be a 5HP Briggs. Is it electric start or pull start only? In my area, a NICE used pull start pony with a 5HP will bring $500.00 MAX.
