Minneapolis Moline historical records from 1836-1982 as stored by the Minnesota Historical society. They have 20 boxes of files, including price lists, photos, and actual individual store accounts. I didn't totally dig through this, but it looks like it might be possible to track where your tractor was originally sold if you are patient enough to read through the stuff.

How much reading did you get through Bear? Find anything interesting? I was reading about one store's accounts and how they went bankrupt in the late 1880's, but didn't get much further than that.
