I'd love to find a mid Mount blade for my 322 to maintain my grandparents and my driveway. How hard are they to come by? Or has anyone ever made one of there own? If so how hard would it be to make one?

They are rare and expensive. Can't say how hard it would be to build one.

I made one a few years ago. It works OK, but seems to dig in better going in reverse. I think I am going to redo it and mount it from the rear

I guess the hardest part for me to make one I think would be how to make the blade itself. Making the mount wouldn't be hard.

John Deere never made a center blade for a 322, so they have to be built or adapted. The 54C blades that John Deere made were for the 140 - 300 tractors.

The blade could be cut out of a piece of heavy walled pipe, or formed like a 54C John Deere center blade, or you could just use a piece of actual grader blade. I bought (and sold) this one that someone made, using a piece of new grader blade.

I see that you have yours mounted to the back of the tractor? How come? Wouldn't it be better to attach it to the front like the mower?

Apparently not....Mine is mounted from the front and it doesn't dig in real well. Mounting from the rear forces it down more.

The front mount pulls on the front of the tractor. Were the rear mount transmits force to the rear axle. Better traction and balance of weight over the blade.
