MF12 purchased today

I think you got a great buy.

You got a good deal. What is going on with the motor? Is it the reflection or something that it looks a different color? Is it a defferent motor then the Tecumseh HH120?

I eventually ended up paying $175.00 for this #12. It needs a starter, a couple belts and a battery.
It has a few other small issues that I know of and I'm sure there are some I don't know about but . . . it's a long winter.
I'll have time to work on it then.
It does have the 12 horse Tecumseh in it still. Not sure if it is original or not.
I'd like to find a mower deck for it though.

I think I might have a starter. I would have to test it though to make sure it works. I asked about the motor because the cover looks different right at the flywheel shroud. $175 is definitely a good deal.

That definitely does not look like the original HH120 engine.

it looks like maybe a tecumseh with a recoil starter on it.

Nice find. I would like to get something a bit bigger than the 8 when I do my next restoration. The MF's are rare here so I am soon going to start looking for a 10/12 soon.

For JDBrian, Look in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, Craigslist under farm and garden. I use the search at the top of the page so I don't have to go through all the post. I've seen quite a few around there. I know what your thinking, but I look for Massey's almost everywhere, for the right tractor I'd drive anywhere, it's classified as a sickness around here. I'm playin it for all it's worth. Mike
