I am looking for backhoe attachments to my tractor. It looks like a 54A is the MF backhoe, but can other backhoes attach to this? Is there a certain standard I'm looking for?

ATM i have front loader and a gannon attached to it.


I need to clean up my plate so i can read the serial so i can figure out exactly what year it is so i can get manuals and all for it. I have no idea what the features are really i know its a perkins 3 cylinder Diesel (yay).

Forward reverse lever with shifter for 1 2 3 and also a shift for H S L, i think this is manual shuttle. all gears work great forward have not tried all in reverse might be scarry.
The PTO works (tested when bought) and I can raise and lower the gannon.

Aside from that I haven't touched any of the other levers, another one on the same side for lowering and raising the rear, and one on lower leftside kinda on the tractor side itself.



Someone round where i live has a back hoe setup off an old 64-66 JD500 for sale and was wondering if that's even a close fit. Or at least just minor fabrication etc.

Question about the basics of how a backhoe works - as far as hydraulics, does it use the PTO to generate the pressure or does it fit into the normal hydraulic system somewhere?

My 30B does not "appear" to have a hydraulic line to the rear.

The picture showing the hydraulic lines for my loader has an "extra" place where a hydraulic line could be attached any idea what that is?

Is it a matter of routing a new hydraulic line to the rear and hooking it into the backhoe or is it much more then that?
