Good day all. I'm recently retired and looking for a small?? tractor to pull a scraper blade. York take. Box scrape. Not going to be working it everyday. Possibly 100 hours a year.
A 240 has come up for sale locally. 1 owner. Apparently purchased in 1989. Diesel. 2900 hours. Stored inside. Looks good. Haven't driven it yet. What should I be on look out for.
I know everything is dependent on service. Is that a lot of hours for that Perkins?
Thanks for the help

Matt, not too many hours, and as you stated, “service”! See if you can drive it around for 10 to 15 minutes. See how it steers, feels to you, run smooth, does it have a 2 stage clutch and work properly. Make sure the 3 point will lift something fairly heavy. Does it start to smoke after getting to operating temperature, and longer it runs the heavier it smokes. Worn tires to less than 10-15% left will not do very well in snow. Check the cost of new tires 😢😭😱.
