Just picked up this new little guy and thought a rebuild thread is in order :)

First off it is not the Fonz :sidelaugh
ImageUploadedByMyTractorForum Free App1445182141.998315.jpg

It is a '71 Hahn GT700 hydro with a 12hp tecumseh engine. In its life it was repainted in Ford colours, and so it doesn't get confused with my other GT700 it got the name of a Fahn

We just got it home after a 1700+ km round trip to Goatboy's house who picked this up off Kijiji for me. Thanks again Ben!

It came with the 36" mower deck and the 36" snow blower. It needs some love but it was almost the top of the line Hahn produced!

Enough talk here are the pictures!

The SSI we believe it dead, so the PO began to try and rig up a solution that did not work, he looked to be on the right track tho

The Fahn also took a trip with us to the Beau's Brewery in Vankleek Hill Ontario

That is all for now :). We are going to unload it later today and maybe start looking into converting the ignition to a different system.

Take care

Mikey.

Nice, Mikey! Looks like an entertaining challenge for ya! :thThumbsU

Thanks Tyson :). We have a lot of ignition parts lying around from old cars so we think we can come up with something!

I forgot to put up pictures of the blower so here it is!

Now I know what you mean:sidelaugh

I thought you misspelled it, but after I saw it a few times I started to wonder Mikey:drunkie:
Maybe you had too good a time at the brewery

Now it makes sense. Good name!!

Looked through the box of parts today that came with the machine, all of it is there. The only things we found missing is the belt cover for the snow blower pulley and the cover that goes over the hydraulic fill cap.

Also, this machine came with the original manuals in good shape!

The tractor manual has the original owners name, phone number and address written in it which I think is neat :). The original date of purchase is in there too, June 3rd 1971

Looks like a nice find. Looks like it will clean up really well just with a quick bath.

Going to keep it blue?

Thanks TN. It will definitely stay blue for awhile, not sure if it will get a repaint or not. Maybe one of these days! After we get it running and use it awhile

Congratulations Mike! Very interesting tractor(s) Honestly, I thought Hahn only made RERs. It was nice getting the attachments, and manuals too. And Fahn.., perfect! I guess that it will be yellow again at some point

The gear drive tractor in your pic above looks great! I also like the shifter "knob". :fing32: Is it a Canadian brand?

Thanks Dave! They only made the GT700 4 years. In that time it was offered with a 7hp then to 8hp (both briggs) and later had the 12hp tec and wisconsin engines and the option of hydrostatic drive. The attachments are the hardest to find, the manuals were icing on the cake ?

The gear drive looks good in that picture but it is pretty rough actually. I bought it being told it was restored, but it needs a ton of work. I didnt lose on the deal, but it is not as was told. Its a project down the road :). The beer knob is actually Sterrling beer which was brewed in the Evansville Indiana area (where Hahn was built). He kept the tap as well since he is a Sterrling collector :)

Thanks Austen! :). Haven't had a whole lot to add, but a buddy of mine just got this original brochures for the 1970 Hahn model year. Thought you guys may like to see them! I know the quality isn't the best, but they aren't mine

Now that my mid term is over we are back to playing with the Fahn. My Dad has been working on the ignition (which I will fill you guys in on if/when he gets it finished). We have also did a few other things such as get it set up on the hoist so it is easier to work on as well as free up the hydro release handle and the park brake handle

ImageUploadedByMyTractorForum Free App1446141725.507327.jpg

I did not get a picture of the handles, but they can be seen in the above picture right next to the fender

We also took the back frame plate off (great system, 8 bolts and the whole back comes off).

Anyone recognize that differential? It is a peerless 1300 series just like what is used in my Ford YT, however it uses a different pump. It looks a bit dirty in there but that can be cleaned out later

Thats all for now :)

I like those original ads. Thanks for posting them! :)

No problem :). If my buddy gets actual scanned ones I will post those also! Theres stuff in there that we believe was never offered such as a rear 6" plow, cultivator, and the 34" grader blade (since the known fromt mount snow blades are 40"), as well as a front mount thatcherizer (powered dethatcher much like the Hahn built Verticut) all for the GT700. We have seen it in ads, but I doubt if any of it actually exists

Just means that we have to keep our eyes pealed ?. I would like to know what kind of rear hitch they had planned for those attachments
