Hi Guys, I am looking at buying a massey ferguson 1010. Has a snowblower, cab, and I belive a 3pt. Its none running, needs a head gasket. And has been sitting with the head off for about 3 years now. Pictures will follow. Please do not post links to headgaskets, The dealership "thinks" that it is unattainable. So whats it worth?

Is that a diesel ? I have a Bolens H1502 Iseki diesel and I have had good luck chasing parts for it at the MF dealer. Back then, according to the old parts fella, MF bought the Bolens diesel tractor and sold it as a MF. I'm almost positive he said the MF model # was 1010.
yes its a diesel. Cyl Tyosa I believe. Talked to the guy, he is asking 3,500 AS IT.

Greetings sir . I'm not the one to state and values as to what thats worth but I thought I would give you something to think about as a reference point . Last summer I acquired a Iseki H-1502 (3 cyl diesel) in perfect running condition with a Land Pride tiller & broadcast spreader (only used 1 time) from a friend for 3K . I know I got a good deal but maybe this will give you some point of reference . Here's a pic of what I got , minus the snow plow .

Mike.

I've never heard of that engine before, but I will check with my local dealer tomorrow and see what I can find out. I bought my tractor at an auction. It is identical to Mike,ASC's but I got more stuff. I bought the tractor, a tiller, 48" mower deck, front end loader, soft cab, snowblower for $2600 Can. The auctioneer told me he figured it should have gone for $3500 to $5000, even though some of it needed work. I have seen these Bolens tractors for sale in the $5000 range without most of the equipment I got... normally a mower deck and snow plow.

The cab is worth 4-500 the snowblower is worth 500-1000. If the head has been sitting off the engine is junk
I talked to the MF dealer today and he tell's me that you have a Toyosha engine, which dates the tractor to pre 1994-1995. That's when they switched to Iseki diesels. At that time the Toyosha engine was built by Hitachi in Japan. If you look them up on the web now, they are a Chinese motor. My dealer said they were a tuff little tractor and motor, no problems out of the ordinary. The only one they had trouble with was the 1035. It had a poorly designed front end which caused a fair amount of grief.

You didn't say if it was a standard transmission or hydrostatic drive. The hydorstatic drive could give you grief as well. Depending on who built it you may have to service it yourself. Some of those old drives are no longer serviced by the manufacturer.

I think you should do some research before you buy. Depending on how and where the tractor has been stored you may be able to rebuild or not. Trying to turn it over by hand would be a good start. A 3/4 ratchet should turn it if it's not seized or rusted up. Otherwise you are looking to rebuild or replace and if that's the case, it's definately not worth anywhere close to what he's asking. I'm pretty sure I saw this tractor as a Hinomoto, so you may have some luck there in locating parts.

If I had a use or a sale for the blower and cab, or If I had another motor to put in it the best I would offer would be in the $700-$800 range. There is a lot of work to be done to that engine if parts are available. If they aren't, scrap around here is 6 cents a pound and that is all it would be worth to me.

Shhh, Just bought the cab for 100 :p
I just bought the cab, For my sears, Gonna mod it a bit. What I would like to do eventually is have the husq for snow blowing and the sears for mowing.
