I have been so frustrated for the last six weeks with my L120 dying, maybe restartin, running for various lengths of time. i am very rural and don't have many choices in repair assistance. I rebuilt the carburater, flushed the tank, blew out the lines, replaced the fuel filter, checked the pump.....nothing worked until i read DavidG's response to Pilotmike who seemed to have the same problem....one sharp wooden toothpick applied to the ventcap and a little blow and a little suck (yuck) and VOILA!

DavidG, Pilotmike called you a genius.....what you are is a Godsend.

Thanks Again

PS I found The answer to my problem reading previous posts while waiting for my account to be activated.

:thanku:

That's what this place is all about.
Sometimes it takes another set of eyes to see the problem after you've been looking at it for too long.

My wife and I call guys like all of you the "normal" people. We may poke fun at each other and ourselves but when it comes right down to it we appreciate the fact that by sticking together it's a darn sight easier to get things done. It reminds me of my old basic traing squadron in the USAF, and it don't get a lot better than that. as you have all said "There are a lot of great guys on this site." Thanks for making me feel welcome.

Blowing and sucking ??????? you must be real rural....the rest of us would have used compressed air ,and just blown, the vent open. :ROF :ROF :ROF

:Welcome1:

It's funny how we tend to over look the little things, and make things more complicated then they need be .....the old model T's were gravity fed also, and going up a hill backwards was done often....see ya,Jim

Well I tell you what. We are up in the far n.e. corner of Texas and except for an unusally hot june, we have actually had an unusual amount of rain this summer. My pond is only down about 1 foot and normally this time of the year it is down about 8 feet. So we haven't gotten any break on the mowing, in fact we are mowing about 3 acres every week. So up here we are blessed.
