Hello, yep another newbie to the forum.. my name is Ed,and I have 2 Sears suburban. One is a 72 SS14 worth a Predator 420cc engine, the other is a 77 SS16/6 all original...both run .. so here we go...
1972 SS14 Sears Suburban, this one was a freebie from a neighbor, it came with a drag blade, middle buster, a plow, and a mini cultivator. It sat for a few years, collecting surface rust...dingy color, and my luck, no compression to the B&S 14....so kept my eyes on message boards, found a Predator 420cc engine for sale, new in the box for less than Harbor Freights price..lucky?? Maybe... Took time to eliminate the rust, repainted the tractor, mounted the Predator... then tried it put, !!!WOW!!, TALK about the torque, half throttle the front end came up, about 4 inches off the ground in HI-3 gear...and similar results in lower gears... can't wait to try plowing with it...
