we'll need a little background. what do you have now, what size is the property you want to maintain, how much of it is mowable, do you plan on any ground engaging equipment or simply mowing and the occasional towing of a wheeled vehicle.
We have an old RX75. It runs great but it is not comfortable.

I am looking at a GT 225.
I have 2 in mind. Our biggest problem here is leaves. We have tons of leaves.

I am wondering if a mulching deck would be the best or a bagger. The trouble with bagging them is, the unbagging and dealing with the leaves you bagged.

The tractor I have in mind is being sold for 1100. It has the dedicated mulching deck. The owner says it doesnt have a time of use clock on it.

The other tractor has a bagging system and mulching blades . It has 1100 hours on it.

We cut about 1-1.5 acres. We dont need a lot of power. We wont use it for snow.

You can't replace an ole Deere, you add to the fleet. MHO
We will need a bigger garage
If it's a Kohler CV15 @ 1100 hrs. I would suspect it's living on borrowed time, but what do I know. If everything else about them is solid try to negotiate way down but have cash in hand; then buy both. Good luck and keep us posted.
which engine in the 225 is the better engine?
It looks like a Kawasaki engine is a more long lasting engine, is this correct?

Someone else is selling a x320 with 300 hours on it for 2500.
Is this a better investment?

Is your terrain flat or hilly? The transmission is one of the most important parts to consider.

According to this TractorData.com John Deere GT225 tractor engine information the only engine offered for GT225 was the Kohler.

Sorry can't advise on a Kawasaki engine, don't know anything about them other than the valves require adjusting every couple hundred hours.

The GT225 has the K71 heavier duty transaxle whereas the X320 has the lighter duty K58 transaxle which should be fine for 1-1.5 acres of relatively flat terrain provided you only use it as it's intended and not try to overload it by towing/pushing heavy loads.
$2500.00 is over half the price of a new comparable X380 and JD is running $300.00 off that ends tomorrow. That's all I've got, good luck.

Thanks for all the info. We took advantage of the john deere sale.
We purchased an X330.
Does anyone know if a side bagger can be used on the 42" deck of the X330.?
Thanks
