Craigslist ad.....I'd love to move up but this seems like a lot of money. For some reason I'm not able to post pictures but it looks like a pretty clean setup.

1999 John Deere, 445, 22 h.p liquid cooled Kawasaki, only has 935 hrs, and runs like a top, p.s. t.w. c.c. diff. lock aux. hydraulics, hydro, hyd. lift, with a 60; SHAFT DRIVE DECK, comes with a john Deere 47; DUAL STAGE SHAFT DRIVE SNOWBLOWER, it has the quick hitch with hyd. lift, plus down pressure, and hyd. shoot turn, this snowblower is huge do you remember last year, when you were snowed in no worries with this thing, also comes with the rear weight bracket, that has two, 70 lbs. suit case weights, also has a set of tire chains, there appears to be no leaks, on this unit. there is a small hole on the side of the seat about the size of a dime. also there is slight scratches on the plastic, other wise this is a nice clean well taken care of machine, it has had the oil &filter changed, air filter, spark plugs, new key switch with the circuit board......$5,000.00

Doesn't seem like too bad of a deal to me. If he were to knock off a couple hundred of bucks, I think you would be making out pretty good. Price out all of the accessories new if you want to feel better about the deal. :)
Blower alone will bring $1400-$1800 used value.
bmurph, that tractor is from mikes sales and service in glasford iL,
i was down there for parts, and was checking it out while he was fixing it,
i was acually on the phone with him the other day and he was trying to sell it to me
lol. nice tractor for sure, mike is a good guy, he goes through them and makes them work properly before he sells. price is fair, i know what he paid for it, and now what hes selling it for. nice setup, if you buy, im sure you wont be dissapointed

I paid $6,000 for mine.
A year newer, with a couple hundred less hours, but that seems fair.

One problem is he has to charge sales tax, that's at least another 300 dollars.

Maybe I'm just too cheap?

So offer to buy it for $4700+ tax.. Or offer to buy for $5150. Dealers have to charge tax. If the extra $300 is a deal breaker for you, then keep looking.. From the pics in the ad, it looks like a nice machine, and with the blower for that money, its not a bad deal, even at $5300.

In today's world what model Deere would the 445 compare to.....X 500's or X700's?
Thats Not a bad price and I think he left some wiggle room on the Deal.
My 445 has the same hours on it and has tru powers on it with a 60mmm and I would ask more for my tractor than he wants for his with out the blower. I think hes just a smidge high on his blower price, hence the wiggle room . I'd offer 4600 and pay the tax for a great machine!!
