Looking for opinions....fix it or junk it??

HI all, I have a Toro ZX525 zero turn 52 inch deck...kind of the mid range line...not the Home Depot/Lowes quality, but not pro grade either..
.
It is about 9 years old and it has started getting weak on the left side. So I had a buddy of mine who runs a landscaping biz have his mechanic take a look and it is the hydraulic motor going out..
.
Problem is that the motor is discontinued and I can't find one... Last check was around $1,000 for one if I could find it..
.
Right motor works perfectly, motor is a Kawasaki 22HP and runs perfectly...basically everything runs perfectly except this darn motor is going out. It literally has about 600 hours on it because I bought it for a large lot, sold the lot after a year and now just mow my postage sized lawn which takes about 10 minutes at most..
.
So the question...try to fix it or junk it/sell for parts on Craigslist/Ebay and go buy another one?

Thanks in advance for any input/opinions...

is there a manufacturer/part number for the hydraulic motor (like say, Hydro-Gear)? maybe see if parts or repair instructions are available for it, and you can take it apart and see what's up with it.
Dave, thanks for the reply. I will have to check once I get it back from my buddy's shop. But looking at the schematics on the exploded diagram, that may be a little (or a lot) beyond my technical capability since it looks like hundreds of parts and I have no clue what might have gone wrong..
.
My buddy said that the Toros usually have interchangeable parts with Scaag and Exmark but I don't know if that it true or not..
.
But if it is "rebuildable" I might have to see if someone locally had the time and skills to do it..

Thanks.

If you can find a replacement motor that fits in your mower and you can make work with your controls, maybe buy both the left and right versions of it and replace both (so they both work the same). It might be easier to do this vs getting a match for your existing motor.
