anybody have any info to share
I'm not too familiar with these units, but by going to the Toro web site, and using the model number you mentioned indicates a 1993 model year for a 12-38 XL lawn tractor. It has a 12.5 horse B & S engine, 5-speed manual transmission, and a 38" cutting deck.

Might want to check for a Toro tractor or mower 'yahoogroup'. The Wheel Horse people have a site that includes pictures of most models, besides other great info. Maybe there's something over there that could help you out.

You can download all but the parts list from
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
Enter the 71180 model number and serial number. I used 3912345 and it worked.

You can get the parts lists here
http://www.partstree.com/parts/
Type Toro in the 2nd box and the 71180 model number in the 3rd box.

More info here and a list of the attachments and their long model numbers
https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro
Just need to enter the 71180 model number.
The same parts lists are available here but they are very confusing. After a page opens you can click on a small printer icon at the top left of the illustration and the page will reload to one that prints well.
