Hi all,
I am trying to help out my step father, his tractor has a broken ring and/or pinion. The JD dealer says they no longer make the ring and pinion so he is kinda stuck. He would really like to keep his tractor going and at 72 yrs. old doesn't want to buy a new one.
Here are the specifics I have:
JD model 850 manual 4wd
1987 or 88
He needs the frt axle or ring and pinion. Is there an axle from another model that will fit it? Does anyone have a frt axle they are willing to sell?
If you need more info, please ask me.
Thanks,
Bob
If car guys are "Gear Heads", are green tractor guys "Deere Heads"?

Sorry, I meant to tell you West Kentucky Tractor, Google for their website and phone.
Gulf South may have the part, but W. Kentucky does compacts. You might ask them whether Yanmar axle may be compatible since Deere compacts of that vintage are Yanmar built and share a lot of components.
