Well I do have a 23hp 54" cut Craftsman...

I'm looking at a 2000 NH tc21. It has the loader, finish mower and rear blade. For $7000. What should the hours be for this price range? Would this be suitable for a small horse property? We have 10 acres of hilly oak infested land in the foothills of the Ozarks.

Thanks, Mark

Mark,

I can't help you with determining the value of the TC21 but wanted to offer some other comments. If that finish mower is mid-mounted then first, it's a PITA to detach and re-attach and if you're into anything other than a smooth grade you will eventually tear something up with it attached. If the mower is a 3-point then ignore above comment. Moving on, if you are looking for a light duty CUT then the 21 may work out great but keep in mind you won't be able to attack various tasks as aggressively as you would with a larger hp and larger frame tractor. My TC33 is marginal for things like plowing, bush hogging, etc. so think about your requirements before you invest in something that might not stand up to what it is asked to do. If you're just grooming your horse ring, hauling feed, cutting grass, then the 21 may be a handy tractor for you. Good luck!!!

It doesn't sound like too bad a price if the hours are low (I'd say under 1000) and the tractor has been cared for. It cost $12,500 new.

It's really small. Very limited Horse Power (17 PTO HP). There's no way for us to tell you what's best for you ---- but I've got a 40 horse Case with a 6 foot bucket and a 6 foot rotary mower and I wouldn't want something so small.

You could always get it for the best price you can (IF it's in good shape) try it for a while and trade it for something bigger if it doesn't do the jobs you have for it.

Here's some info:
