With 700 hours this looks hard to pass up, he wants $4K, which seems fair but wanted to see what ya'll thought.

445 with steel cam in Kawasaki gas engine is a great setup.

Should be one of my favorite models but (my opinion) this model has a serious problem. Worse than the KT17 series 1 lubrication problem in 317 tractors. This tractor already is encountering the problem. That is broken plastic hood/side shields. I have seen some wonderful 425/445/455 tractors with immaculate components. I have seen more operating without hood and side shields. The only way I would pay sellers asking price is he replace the broken parts. They are expensive.

Also, thank you for posting your location. I have purchased quite a few parts out of Minneapolis area. I do not know why but Deere components are higher asking price in this area. There is an abundance of Deere equipment/parts but have higher asking price. I know distance is a problem with many buyers but I think you can find a better deal outside your home area ... Gabby

I would say that price is high without any other attachments or implements.

As noted, the plastic is broken. There are some cheaper aftermarket panels out there. Quality control isn't great, but from what I've read the company will replace until you get a good fitment. Kumar Bros and Flips are who I see the most reports on.

I would also inquire about any work done on the engine and trans. There are a lot of o rings and seals that are areas for leaks. The PS valve, PS cylinder are also common areas for leaky o rings and seals.

I wouldn't pay full asking price, but would be around $3,000 here in NY currently. I'm starting to see x7 series tractors in he $5k range, so no way would a 445 only be $1k or so less than a 2010 x7.

I was kind of thinking the same thing, I have two 445s that are both 2001s but always looking to see if there are others out there and this one caught my eye.

Locally I have seen 445 with cab, deck and snowblower for 4,800. A 425 with deck And blower for 4,500. A 425 AWS in nice condition but deck only at 3,900.

All have been posted for several months so either sellers or adamant or buyer sense there's little wiggle room to be reasonable.

At the end of the day, a high price tag for a 25-30 year old GT needs evidence to support the price, such as an engine rebuild, new tires. At least that's what I tell myself now considering the amount of time I put into my 445.

Even a 455 sat at a 4,500 pricetag awhile ago.

You are right, with only 700 hours it is hard to think that this one would have had a engine rebuild since these things are so reliable, but you never know. Good thing to keep in mind.
