In researching the possibilities for adding a linear actuator to my GT to raise and lower the bucket/scoop on the front, I'm finding it very difficult to decipher the various specifications and "code" words used in the industry.

I'm thinking there must be a "primer" somewhere, on the net, that explains what it all means.

Some of the mysteries are:
"Static load"
"Ball and acme" (I know what an acme thread is)
Some motors are at a right angle to ram and some are parallel to the ram. Difference?
"brass nut"

There's many other terms that don't make sense.

Does anyne know of a primer that explains all of this?

Can you link to it?

Thanks

Begin reading at page 57 in this PDF. Definitions should be quite helpful.
