Can you rebuild the mower lift cylinder on a 455 JD law mower?

JD welds their units, one of the members, Alan in Vermont, rebuilds these so they can be rebuilt but they have to be rewelded and you might want to read some of his threads. I sent him my PS steering ram and it is working great!

Thanks very much for the very fast reply PA318Guy. I removed the cylinder today and removed the wiper seal, it was very hard. My cylinder had a very small leak while sitting so I hope by replacing this seal it will be ok. If this does not work I may try repairing it myself.

Just let you know I replaced the wiper seal (ten bucks) and it fixed my problem. :greendr:
