I pulled the Ross steering box apart on my 72 LGT 145 because the steering was making a bit of a grinding noise. The bearings came out in pieces.
The rest of the parts seem to be OK, but I'm not sure if the adjustment screw is worn.
I understand they are a cub cadet part. Does anyone have a part number so I can order parts or are all of the ones listed for Cub Cadet Ross steering the same?
They are pretty expensive kits and I don't want to order the wrong one!

Hey Joe, I don't have a part number, but it is my understanding guys routinely duplicate that adjustment screw by taking a similar hardened bolt, cutting the head end off to length and grinding the tip to match the worm gear it runs in.

You can probably match the bearing at a local industrial supplier. I never buy OEM bearings for any brand, I always use my local guy to duplicate them for a lot less money.

Appreciate the help so far.
I just noticed that the bearing keeper I pulled out in pieces is different than the keeper on the top bearing. It appears to be a cast metal? The cup size seems to be the same size, but it had a flat bottom instead of the round bottom in the cub cadet kits?
Has anyone replaced one of these with the cub cadet part?
