Do these work> I keep seeing these pop up from time to time. Can somebody show me how they work.

Its just a piece of expanded metal grate stuff that sits down under the deck cover.Then it has a small grate that covers the sd opening. The blade throws the leaves against the grate shredding them. I guess it works OK. The leaves have to be DRY or its useless.Very easy to install..only one bolt to hold the small grate on the sd side.

I've tried them and had no success. You would think the leaves in Kansas would be dry and crispy enough by November but I threw in the towel on mine.

I just mulch them in if there isn't too many.

I use it in the fall and it works great but like guys said it has to be dry. I have to put it on my mower soon. Lots of leaves and bark around here already

Agreed -- they have to be dead and dried. If the leaves are any degree of wet, they make a paste which clogs the screen instantly.
