I have a lawnboy S series that runs too slow. I got it from my neighbor that hit a sewer cover with it. it ran fine before that. I checked the fly wheel key and it was perfect.:trink39: the crank shaft does not look bent. I tried ajusting the govenor. No luck.:banghead3 :crybaby:

what else could cause it any help is greatly appreciated.:thanku:

Is the engine pretty free? Have you tried pulling the plug and spinning it over? That might at least rule out major internal machanical, like a messed up bearing.

Will it rev by rotating the governor?

Did you take the flywheel off to check the key or look at it from above? Sometimes it can be deceiving looking without removing it. Just a thought.

I took out the key and it is perfect. it will try to rev when u move the govenor.

BTW- if somehow it turns out to be a carb problem, convert it to a primer carb model like I did with my S21ESR.....:thThumbsU
