So I have a L21ZPM from 1992 that my father-in-law bought for me for a house warming gift! It's only had two issues over the years, and both times it was the ignition module. Now however, it looks like a piece has broken. It appears to #8 in the attached drawing, and everywhere I look this part is no longer available.

I've bought a new mower (Toro Recycler), so I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying to find the part, or just find someone who needs some spare parts for another project. I've got a lot of the pieces, so I hate to see it go to recycle!

Any thoughts? Thanks!
Mike

If it's just the muffler plate that's broken then I would think you could either get it welded, or find a good used one for cheap and be back in business. If you can't find it on a parts mower locally then you could try running that part number through eBay.

Hi! Post something in the forsale/wanted section. There are probably some out there that were parted out. Bill

Hi Mike, I think the 680540 is the LB number for your model. Sears or LB must have come up with the L21ZPM for the Sears model. The plate I have is from a L21ZPNC 1991. This is the same plate as used on a 680540 1992.

XR,

You are correct! Here is the model # pic that I just found (pic is hard to read downsized, it is 680540):

But to prove I'm not crazy (well, maybe this doesn't prove that), here is the picture of the top of the fuel tank:

Anyway, looks like that's the right plate.

Mike
