Krylon Hot rod green or Duplicolor Grabber green I live in the sticks so I have to buy on the net.
Thanks i'll look for those. How do you think a Lawn boy would look when painted John Deere Green?
like crap :sidelaugh

I agree, like crap. I bought one that had been poorly painted with JD green and it was awful. I suppose if all you care about is that it runs and cuts the grass you can paint it any color in the rainbow. Seems that most on here, and myself, want to keep as close as possible to the original color.

I had not heard of the Krylon "hot rod green" before, but have used Rustoleum's "grabber green". I suppose paint brand availability is subject to the stores in your area. Rustoleum is the only one I can locate around here. The other brands are available, but I don't think that color of green is one most places generally stock.

I know John Deere green is alot darker than the lawn boy green. But I like it. I can get John Deere paint at the John Deere dealer and it would (or should) be a good quality paint. I thing the Rustoleum grabber green should be a good tough paint as well. I dont know about Duplicolor, if i remember right its one of the cheaper paints that isn't as tough and scratch resistant.

What I'd REALLY like to do is take it apart, sand blast it and powdercoat it as close to Lawn Boy green as possible.

Duplicolor is what i use. Its for heat up to 500 degrees, I know a few guys have painted engine blocks with that grabber green and it holds up fine...
The Rustoleum is also an engine paint, 500 degree, gas and oil resistant. Makes you wonder if all the different brands don't all just come out of the same plant with different labels...
