Thanks..I'll be looking for that one...

I did make a mistake and mis-identified the Duplicolor brand color...it is an engine enamel and is called Grabber Green...seems to be a good match for the Toro Lawn Boys...I still would go with the custom paint match (I think they could do it as a clearcoat.) It would be closer to the original OMC LB Green.

They probably will have the correct color for your 7022, but not the old 60's mint green,
That seems right. I have noticed that some of the photos of other LBs don't seem to have the same color as mine. I hope nobody is lead astray, but the match for mine was exact, so I got all heated up that a lot of people on here might find what they wanted.

Another discovery for y'all! I took one of my wheel adjust assemblies to the powder coater today, this time BEFORE I used the wire wheel to buff it off--and showed him the finish in a protected place. He pulled out a sample metal that had the code RAL 9006 marked on it. He held it up to the assembly and it looked just right. Didn't match exactly, mind you, but DID look like it was the original finish--you know how the new looks right when compared to the original that's been in service for nearly 40 years. So, there you have it--a virtual match for the tin/zinc finish as well as a perfect match for the green. I'm really anxious to see it all done.

If y'all send stuff to Mario for coating, mention that you heard about him from me.

I restored a 1970 1015 edger and used Rustoleum Engine Enamel in grabber green. My profile pic is the final product. I have more pics on this restoration. If you want to see them I can post them in my gallery.

For the Toro Paint I found that New Holland Red worked out great. It was like 8 Bucks a can at my dealer. But it is right on the same color.
Is that a match for the New Red, or the Old Red? I need the old red.

Hasd anyone tried the Cold Galvanized finish?

I have touched up a couple of Lawn Boys, but I did not go for a close match color. I spend the extra money and got Lawn Boy Leaf Green.

Does anyone know of a commercially available rattle can color green for the mid-50s Iron Horses? I've been looking around, haven't found anything, and am about ready to go have some custom-matched. But thought I'd shout out here first in case I'm missing something...

I'm doing the same thing right now. I've done tons of searching and the only one I've come up with is Rustoleum Moss Green.
Now I'm trying to find out what a close match would be for the red shroud color. If anyone knows could they please post it here.

I realize that this is an older thread but I finished restoring a 3003 a few months ago. It was the buttercup color. I had a really hard time finding information on this particular color. I spent some time trying to find a rattle can that matched the original butter cup color. By accident my 10 year old son pointed this out to me in a Lowe's. " hey dad, that looks like the buttercup right there" Sure enough. Valspar Oatlands Daisy. Lowe's item number 416278. I could only find it in a flat finish. I cleared it with Duplicolor Auto Grade Clear to help with fuel resistance. I primed and painted the deck. I wasn't sure how the Valspar would react with the Duplicolor so I let the paint bake in the sun, in my driveway for about 15 days before I cleared it. It turned out beautifully. There were a few painted areas on the mower that were hidden from the sun. I was able to do a side by side comparison during the process and if it wasn't exact, it was really really close. Just thought I'd share.

Just painted the flywheel screen on my 3054 using Testor's hobby spray paint in Sublime Green. There was a fair amount of paint on the back of the screen for reference and this was a very good match. Bill

Repaint on left. Original backside on right.

I hear that this is a good match for Lawnboy blue flywheel screens. It's in the Walmart craft section

Y'all can rest easy. I found a powder coat color that matches my 7022 EXACTLY! The color is RAL 6018. If you want more info, go to Walk Behind-"7022 to powder coater". Powder coating is durable and magnesium decks CAN be done. My coater will sell enough to do your mower(s) which is a huge help. Y'all let me know if you need more info or help with questions for Mario. Later--
Following this discussion. I've got a growing stack of LB decks that need powder coating and am eager to get it right. Thanks for the info, @LB7022 !

Autumn Red on the 1956 5000 has been tough to get in a spray can.
The Painters Touch cinnamon is close, but a little orange. The Dupli color brick is close also, but a little pink?. So I used both, after self etching primmer used cinnamon, then over-spayed about 60% with brick. Then clear coat engine enamel. This got me pretty close to original, and decal color. The over-spray does not lay down as nice as full coat but the clear and buff brings it back pretty glossy. On the deck I would agree with most that the Painters touch Spruce green is pretty good, just a touch darker, but looks good. Moss green if you want to go to the lighter side.

I got a chance to put the 5000 together and compare to my original 5000 for color side by side. The light really effects these colors.
