Hi everyone! I would like your opinion on this item as to the value before making an offer to the seller. Thanks, Bill

Iv'e been watching that for a while, but don't "need" it so I've never done anything, lol. I know there's some reflective tape needed to make it work, I assume the tape is placed on the end(s) of the blade, and I have to wonder what kind of reflective tape it is?

Granted I'm assuming it will be more of a novelty than anything for you... I'd offer maybe 35 to 40. It's been relisted a number of times, and often the seller would rather take a lower offer than hassle with relisting it anymore.

Hi again! The reflective tape is the same as can be bought under the Scotchlite brand like they use on the side of trucks or on the back of running shoes. This really doesn't matter as someone placed an offer for $40.00 which was accepted so they got it for $55.00 including shipping. I had some minor problems with this seller on a small L.B. tool kit that was listed as new, complete but ended up having a missing item and they were a bit difficult to deal with so I hope whomever bought this item is happy with it. I had planned on using this on my mowers but was concerned about getting it repaired if there was a problem so I contacted the manufacturer, OTC, and was told that they no longer support repair on this item. I may just buy one of the Strandix handheld units as this is what my local mechanic uses and he loves his. I hope someone on the forum ended up with this. If they did, let us know how well it works after trying it out. Bill

Given that it hasn't sold for weeks on Ebay, then you post it here and suddenly it's sold, I'm guessing it's a member/lurker on here that bought it. Wasn't me!

If you are just wanting a Tach, Yes there's lots of better and easier options. I just use a tiny-tach that's actually designed to be mounted to a machine as an hour meter and tach. Works great for me though. The mower monitor was probably used very little even by dealer mechanics, but I'm sure was something "required" by lawn boy to have to be sure that the flywheel brake was working properly and stopping the engine/blade within the ANSI required limits. 99% of people don't care, lol. I have a couple '80s models I replaced the brake spring with a lighter weight spring because of the amount of tension required on the flywheel brake cable was really high and I was afraid of the cables snapping, which costs around $50 to replace, no thanks!
