Also keep in mind that the older Lawnboys, basically pre 1970, use a 16:1 mix. The 1970 and newer use a 32:1 mix. This is assuming you are using standard Lawnboy or similar brand 2 cycle oil. I know there are many discussions regarding oil mix ratios but I would mix at whatever rate the mower called for. 50:1 would be a bit light on the oil mix however you may be able to get away with it using modern oils or synthetics. Not my choice however. Bill

I agree with you Bill. More oil wont do as much damage as not enough. In my experience it is always safer to err on the fat side than lean out an engine and blow it up.

Agree! The only LB machine I would burn 50 to 1 in would be an "M" series, but not looking to start a debate. Maybe it's the aircraft mechanic in me, but I don't really venture away from any manufacturer's recommendations when dealing with machines of any type.
