Lawnboy 12hp Briggs w 38" deck

I am kind of a lawnboy addict. I found a mower that needs work and a deck. Is this even worth tinkering with? I am curious if a Husqvarna deck or Simplicity deck would fit this, even a toro deck........its in the right price range.

Thanks guys. Any input works.

Knightrider, I mean no offence to you but but you may want to try the other forums. Since this one deals with Wheel Horse and Toro/Wheelhorse, it's likely that wherever the Lawnboy forum is they would be able to help you out a bit more than we could. I wish you well on getting an answer.
In any event, with enough money, anything will work.

But regardless, a pic or a model number would help a lot in determining what particular type of machine this is. Front engine/rear engine, etc. Is this one of the Gilson derived machines, or some other?

If the machine looks like the following pic, there are Gilson and Ford branded machines that have decks to run on this machine

This is definitely a Gilboy (Gilson)

The parts for this mower are mainly obsolete.

The decks you are considering would not be applicable as far as I know.
