large toro snowblower attachment I.D. help. too bad the tag is totally gone so i can not figure what this fits or model number. the condition on the auger and chute tells me this was never used. any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's for one like this, it is a Farmcrest but they were also made for Toro and Springfield...they all look the same. This has the hole in the front grille for a pulley setup to go through the hood to run the blower.

Something with a front PTO, D series or C195. I'm thinking early D series.

I've found out (from a very good reliable source) that this is most likely for a Toro tractor made before they bought Wheel Horse. Which 1 I dont know.

That is for the old Toro Suburban tractors the ones that look like the pics rydogg posted.

I have and still use that exact same blower on my 1967 10HP Suburban model 55300. I am in process of rebuilding and some modifying on my blower right now hope to finish sometime this next week, before my luck runs out and we get snow.

My tag is gone also so can't help on the model number. I have searched and searched the Toro site, google, etc and can't find a blower that looks like that listed for any 60's or early 70's model years so not sure what is going on. I doubt they still make any parts anyway but would be nice to know the model number so if you ever find out let me know also.

Suspect this snowthrower was a left over Springfield model when Toro took control of the company August 1, 1966. Toro would have been gearing up for the release of the 1967 models in October 1966 as other companies did. Yours has a U-jointed shaft on the left side the later Toro models do not appear to have used. Found a picture in a 1965 sales broucher that is dated 1964 but see some similarites.

Just when you think you found it all. This would be the 1966 model so there was likely a 65SB as well.

Is the snowthrower in question a 36"?
