Well the radar says it's snowing, unfortunately the walking test says it's still raining! Should be changing pretty soon though!
That lake effect stuff can be nasty.

I have a friend that lives right on Lake Erie near the PA/NY border that gets almost no lake effect snow at all. I understand that the first mile or so of ground around the lake is it's own micro-climate with temps artificially elevated due to the warmer lake water. The moist air coming off the lake doesn't start dropping as snow until it's past that first mile. He hardly got any snow last year but a few miles away where he hunts, there was 48" on the ground.

Kind of amazing.

Yes, I worked in Erie for a while and as I came off the hill down towards the lake the snowfall always was less than up at the top of the hill! We're getting some snow right now but we're in between that low moving up the coast and the backside which will pull in the lake enhanced snow. Shouldn't be too long now but I'll have to find out in the morning!

Drizzle was changing to light snow on the way home tonight about 6:30 and was at 34°F. Still have some wind gusting to near 20 mph. But the temperature has went back up to 37°F. Winds going around to the West so the cold front must be getting close. No snow stuck to the ground and looks like it is done now.

Another 0.5" of rain in the gauge for the day. I've measured 48.52" for the year. Columbus is over 50" for the year. One for the record books and the wettest it has been in my backyard since 2004.

Well woke up this morning to a whole 1/2 inch of snow!!!! Where I work had about 2 - 3 inches. This storm did what all of them did last year, the rain stayed centered over the area and the snow never got here till the end of the storm passed. The lake enhanced snow just never made it's way down this far! Well the 322 get's to sit a while longer!!!:thSick:

Tim, where are you located in PA? I'm in the southeastern corner and we haven't recieved a speck of snow since the one in October. We had a bit of rain the last few days, but I'm about itching to get some snow. No wonder noone wants to buy my snowblower!:banghead3

It's been a rainy year here too. 51.87" on my station. The lawn was like a giant sponge all year long and the tractor tires did some minor damage for the first time since it was new. We had rain yesterday and still no prediction of snow through the weekend, except for some snow showers. That means we'll probably get 6 inches. :D
