Guys

I'm looking for a service manual for a Kubota wg600 in a Cub 2182. I want to check the valve lash and do a tune up on it.

Thanks

You Da Man ! Yep Monday will work just fine. Picked up this old girl along with a 2284 in Ill a couple weeks ago. Plan on selling the 2284 but the 2182 is kinda cool so I think I'm going to hang on to it.

No only 3 Cubs at the moment. Plus my BX2660 and my JD317 yard dump.

Is that hot or cold 0.145-0.185 mm (0.0057-0.0072 in.)

Spent the day working on the Kohler in the 2284. Carb was a mess. What a PITA to work on. Think I'll stick to Vanguards, cheap and easy to work on.

Thank you.

Hey Justin

Thanks for the info. I'll try to pop the valve cover off the Bota tomorrow and see what I have. The Vangaurds are EASY to work on. everything is done from the top. Great engines. I've worked on some that have just been beaten to death and they just keep going. Had one that a women ran for about 400 hours of it's 900 hours with the choke full on because a little plug came out of it. Fixed the plug issue and it still ran good but by then it was an oil burner. Only thing I like about the Kohler is the complete carb can be removed with the engine in the tractor, on a Vanguard you have to pull the engine to get at the bolts on the bottom of the manifold. Luckily as I said you can do all the carb work just by removing the top cover.

Hey Justin

Big thanks to you for the info. Set the valves on the 2182 at .007 cold, ran it till it warmed up then reset them at .006 hot. Thing run like a swiss watch. I was going to sell it but now I think it's a keeper. Got the 2284 carb pretty well sorted out. Biggest problem was whoever worked on it before had the float set way to high and it was running very rich. Runs pretty good once it warms up. I may just put a new carb on it and be done with it. Found a new one on Flea Bay. Gotta get a new clutch for the 2182. Thought I could get away with just a new set of bearings but the insulation on the coil is toast even though it works I doubt it will work for long so it's not worth new bearings.
