Hello. The Kohler Command 14 engine on my Gravely 14G Pro dosen't seem to be getting fuel. The fuel flows out of the tank and I replaced the fuel line. She'll start with a blast of starting fluid but dies within a few seconds. The fuel filter isn't filling with fuel.

Any suggestions??

Take the bowl off the carb and clean the main jet with carb cleaner. make sure gas is flowing on and off when you move the floats before putting it back on. Be careful with the gas you spill! I remember a small engine mechanic dying from being careless wth gas.

Put it on an "IV drip" direct to the carb and that will tell you if the carb is OK or not. With the gas today it is likely that carb bowl is full of nasties thanks to the ethanol in the gas.

Thanks for your suggestions and I will def be careful with the gas. As far as the IV drip, just run the fuel line from the tank to the carb?
