I took my valve cover off yesterday to check the valves on my k321. Both intake and exhaust clearances were correct to book specs. The problem is the intake tappit will freely spin along with the adjustment nut. On the exhaust side, the tappet stayed fixed while the nut turned. Is there something wrong with my intake tappet? Engine seemed to run fine. This is a 73' 444

Thanks

Victor, here's a picture of the tappet and the cam that lifts it. Each tappet rotates freely if the respective cam doesn't push on it from below. Which tappet is being pushed up and therefore tight and which can spin freely depends on the piston position.

The tapet does have a detent to hold it in place with a wrench when you turn the screw to adjust clearance.

Perfect thank you That's exactly what I wanted to know. Looks like I'm good to go then. I just saw the whole thing rotating I thought maybe it was an issue
