whats up guys
i am not sure how this is supposed to work but i am new to kohler engines and points. i do know someone put new points on, there is no spark and there is no condenser which it should have one and i am not sure if the points are wired correctly so if someone could give me a pic of their points and where the condenser goes and a wiring diagram i would appreciate it

Does it have a battery/coil ignition system, or a magneto?

it has the coil no magneto and i also noticed when i use my test light it shows voltage on the points side. which i havn't cleaned the points yet but i imagine they need it but if its showing positive voltage on the negative side of the coil, will that go away once i clean the points and it makes ground?

just clean the points and connect the condenser to the point side of the coil.
make sure you have the correct point setting as that will make a difference.
after all that is done get a spark plug and lay it on top of the engine, then turn the engine over a time or two to see of you are getting spark. connect the plug that is on the engine, then it should start.
