Just ordered my first Deere!
Hi all.
After spending a few weeks wishing, thinking, wondering, and drooling, I finally got serious and ordered my first John Deere.
On order is a X500 with 48" deck, three bin bagger, 44" snow blower, 4 suit case weights, and a grill cover.
After a bit of wheeling and dealing I got the salesman to swap the rear turf tires out for HDAP tires and throw in rear end fluid and a oil filter ( for my first oil change + rear end fluid change) for free.
It should be here in a week or so, I can't wait. And yes, pics will be forthcoming.
On a side note, I have two JD dealers in my area. One sat down with me and answered all my questions ( no matter how dumb) , invited me to drive a similar tractor around the yard and try to get it stuck ( when I asked how well the locking diff. worked). Offered me coffee and made me feel right at home.
the other never returned my phone calls or sent me a quote ( even after promising to twice).
It's a no brainer to guess which dealer I went with.
So looking forward to finally getting it and putting it to work!

Well, you made a good decision. Enjoy the new tractor when it arrives.
Congradulations, Sounds like you did a great job of getting it set up to do some work, going to be a long week for you waiting on it.
That's a great tractor you bought! Your setup is almost identical to mine sans the snow blower (I'm still shopping for that!).

Good thing you got the snowblower - it would have been tough to wait til spring to use your new toy!

Know what you mean about differences in dealers. We were looking at a 3005 at a dealer in Georgia, didn't have what we wanted on the lot, didn't disclose the "6 week" lead time, and never returned our calls. We cancelled the deal, didn't feel right.
Went looking last Monday at a dealer in Fla, had a nice 3032E on the lot, with the front loader we wanted. Much better than the 3005, we worked the deal on the phone on Wed, and picked her up on Friday. She already has 13 hours on her! Will take pics after we giver her a bath! LOL:thThumbsU

Congratulations!!! I just bought my 3rd JD last week, X740 with hard side heated cab, mower and snow thrower. I'm still waiting for delivery as the cab has not come in yet. I know the pain you're going through waiting! LOL!!
