Good evening! Just signed up and am making the required introduction post.
Posting from NW Conn and I have some questions about a Sherman unit in a Ford 8N.
Not new to mechanics, have been a truck (IH & Western Star) and heavy eq (mostly CAT) mechanic for a very long time, now recently retired.
However, I have a couple specific questions about the Sherman and am hoping for some advice/opinions once I am cleared to create a post on the 'regular' forums.
Have been lurking on the Gravely forum for a long time, I have a couple walk-behind tractors and a handful of attachments.
Just as a heads-up I don't do any of this forum/message board stuff on my phone, home computer only, so it might take a full day for me to respond to questions.
Gonna try to attach a picture just to see if it works and to prove that I'm actually working on a Sherman unit.

And I'm unanimous in this -- Welcome -- like you I use my computer at my home desk----I don't have an ford tractor when I was looking for one checking all the tractors out I thought that the #N's Were too old for me to put my money into at my wife's age I be just about 2 mo. older than my wife if I understood her right---- so I bought a 1998 tractor that came with other equipment 30HP 4X4 with a front end loader been a lot of help on my just over 2 acers with 80 trees ----it was an old tree lot that in the old days were left on the place and a barn and other out building and 1400' of fence on my place. Lot of help----I really did start to get an N ford tractor with my deal-----When I got my diesel tractor, I got a packaged deal that included a desk/-FEL/-harol/box blade/trailer --there could have been more stuff with the deal.

Welcome to MTF! I'm sorry I can't help with the Sherman, but a couple of things caught my eye. NW Ct. is a beautiful area. We used to enjoy the drive up Rt.7 to LimeRock for the vintage fall festival. My wife wasn't as enthusiastic about the festival itself though. Glad to see a fellow Gravely owner here too. And I am also strictly a sit at the keyboard guy. My flip phone (which is usually off) is good enough for me.

I am a Season Pass holder for Lime Rock and try to attend all the events - gorgeous place and easy drive for me. The Vintage Festival was what got me started.
I solved my problem with the Sherman and posted a pic to close out the thread. I kinda knew what the answer was going to be but wanted to get confirmation from someone familiar with the units.
Grateful for the assistance!
I've owned my Gravely since the mid 80s, I think it is a 7.6 Convertible and I bought it used at Better Power & Eq in Waterbury, VT. I've put a lot of hours on it with very minimal repairs. Love that thing!
