What model would that be ? It has swing brakes and a hand clutch... What was left of the engine was nothing I've seen before... I took the mowing deck because it looks like it was used one year... No pitting no rust... I might go back for the tractor if it's something rair... The hood got smashed allready...

This is the shape the bottom of the deck was before I touched it ...
It still has some original paint...

I did nothing to the top...

Yes it was yellow and I could see the last part of the model # was 30

thats the same deck i have,though in much better shape....mine is 50"...

the tractor has a brake pedal for each foot and the hand clutch...i am told mine is a 424 and was probably red at one time....i had it out yesterday and found the old paint underneath was yellow,except for the carb and pto output had red on them...not sure if this means its not a 424 or what...im no expert,in fact i have no clue...

a question of my own,if i may:

does the hand clutch mean this is hydrostatic? it has a 1-2 lever and a hi-lo range lever along with the pto lever

Hand clutch is just that... A leaver hooked up to the shaft the works the clutch...

The 400 series tractors are based on a walk behind. Alot of the parts interchange. The forward reverse lever, does the same thing as the lever on a walk behind tractor, it is gear drive, not hydrostatic. Ed

I love the winch and the diamond plate. Thats one tough lookin Gravely.
The 4 wheel tractors are my favorite. They certainly are a work of art.
