John Deere 140 H3 w/ Very Rare Brantly Model 320 FEL New Pics
This is probably going to be the coolest addition to my JD collection, or should I say coolest implement found for a 140 H3. I can't remember if I posted this a while back, but I found this loader in a small tar paper shack barn about 15 minutes from my house around 2 months ago, and here I was contemplating having a Johnson Model 12 or 12a shipped from Utah back east for about 3 times the cost.
Anyway, this is a Brantly 320 loader that was built for the 300 series JD GT's, and the 320's are very hard to find apparently. So I took some measurements of the subframe, ran home to make sure it would fit on my 140, and I brought it home the next day. I have since flushed the entire loader of fluids, and had a full set of new Hydraulic hoses made at my local Parker Shop for a decent price since all the old ones were craked or leaking. I have basically slacked off for the last month or so and never got around to installing all the lines, but yesterday I got er done, topped off the hydro fluid with fresh Hygard and ran it through its paces to bleed out the system.
It works much better now, and I pulled it out to move some dirt and it works pretty good so far. The PTO Hydro pump seems to be strong, and the action of the loader is crisp and accurate. One mistake I keep making is that you can't touch the levers on the hydro valve after you have dissengaged the PTO, because it releases the internal pressure and shoots the fluid out of the fill port weep hole, which will go all over you. Don't ask how I know this.
Check it out guys, and let me know what you think.:trink39:
