Hi everyone. Hope you can help me. This year I started mowing my large lawn after my husband had a stroke. I ran over a buried dog tie out anchor and it is wrapped around spindle above the blades. Can this be fixed? The metal is to heavy to use cutters... Any suggestions would be helpful... Thank you Cheryl

Welcome Cheryl,

Probably the easiest way to get that off would be to take the blade off.

If you are not mechanical ask a neighbor or relative to help with that.

Sorry to hear about your husband.

Depends upon what you call cutters! If you are thinking of the tiny hand held wire cutters, yeah they won't do that. Next step up is a pair of bolt cutters, like they use for cutting locks off. That would likely work although their size does make them a bit unwieldily.
Really, the easiest way is to get an angle grinder with a cutting wheel and he likely has one in his shop. If he doesn't, Harbor Freight has one for about $15. With the grinder, you don't even have to cut all the way through, but part way and bend it until it snaps apart.
Use heavy gloves and eye protection when using it.
